Who We Are.
We are not associated with bf2cc.com. None of our code comes from bf2cc.com. We are a group of Battlefield 2 players and admins who have taken inspiration from bf2cc. Having moved on to Call of Duty 4 and wanting a better way to control the server than RCON, we have started this project to provide such options. We are looking at providing a few options and are currently working on a GUI client+server and a php web application.
The main impetus of this project was a request by Gen.Incognito of Clan UTAC. The current developers of this project are [UTAC] Raycaster and [UTAC] eSkiSo.
The GOAL of this Project.
To solve the issues that arise from mulitple admins controlling a CoD4 server.
One solutions is a GUI client that allows login
directly into CoD4 RCON -or- to the cod4cc daemon running on the CoD4 server (preferred).
Initially targeted at Windows, but we are considering a GTK# port for Linux.
The other solutions is a PHP web application that will run on a web server separate from the CoD4 server.
In both cases the goal is to provide a management method other than direct RCON access. When the cod4cc daemon or php web app are used only the main admins actually know the RCON password. All admins will have their own userid and password that they will log in with. Each admin can be given a permission level that allows them to perform certain actions, but not all. In this way you can have junior admins and senior admins. As your clan adds members you can start the more junior members with fewer permissions and grant them additional permissions as you feel they are worthy.
In addition all actions are logged. You will know who took the action and when!
